Welcome to my guitar gallery and website.  When I'm not on a horse or tractor, I build steel string acoustic guitars in my home workshop for fun and hobby.  Robert O'Brien of Parker, Colorado (obrienguitars.com) is my mentor.  My designs are inspired by him and other terrific luthiers such as James Olson (olsonguitars.com), Kevin Ryan (ryanguitars.com) and Trevor Gore (gore guitars.com.au).  My focus is lightly-braced, medium-size guitars built with exceptional materials, carefully voiced soundboards and tuned following Gore's modal tuning techniques.  Structural integrity, tone, playability and aesthetics are the foundation of my instruments.  I build mostly OM (orchestra model) style guitars, but I've also built dreadnoughts, jumbos and cutaways.

I'm an amateur, hobby luthier.  I build for pleasure and the enjoyment that comes from learning along the way.  I love learning about guitar tone - the materials, the acoustics, the tools - what makes exceptional tone and how to get there.  I consider a guitar to be a tool for making music, so above all, it must serve the player's needs.  Like any tool, it must be the right size, shape, and style to compliment the user.  While I may have some guitars for sale, it's always best to design and build a guitar to the individual player's style, taste and expectations.  That way you can be involved in your instrument from start to finish!

I've made them for myself, friends and family - and I'd love to build one for you.

If you've ever wanted a hand built, custom designed, personally voiced guitar, give me a call and let's talk about it.
